Practical Assessment
Practical Assessment
To complete your Brow Lamination training and receive certification, you must perform the full treatment on five different models and submit a detailed case study for each.
Each case study should demonstrate your understanding of consultation, technique, client care, problem-solving, and aftercare - all essential for professional accreditation.
Case Study Workflow
1. Consultation & Client Goals
Start every treatment with a thorough consultation. This ensures suitability, safety, and clear communication of client expectations.
Include:
- Completed consultation form with contraindication check
- Signed patch test confirmation
- Notes on skin sensitivity or previous treatments (e.g., tinting, microblading, Botox, fillers, facials, SPMU)
- Client’s Desired Look:
- Write a short summary of the client’s goal (e.g., fluffy and full, sleek and polished, natural lift)
- Include whether they requested a specific shape or gave creative freedom
- Record lifestyle factors or daily habits that may affect brow maintenance
Tip: Positioning the consultation first emphasises client safety and ensures that the treatment plan aligns with their expectations before any products are applied.
2. Documenting the Treatment
Take clear, unedited photos at each stage:
- Before: Close-up of natural brows and full face
- After: Immediately post-treatment, close-up and full face
- Optional: Healed photo (24-48 hours later) to show the settled result
Photos should be in good lighting, on a neutral background, and without filters. This provides visual evidence of your technique and results.
3. Step Timings & Professional Reasoning
Record all steps and timings used during the treatment:
- Lifting solution: time left on
- Neutraliser/fixing solution: time left on
- Nourishing serum: application details
Explain your reasoning:
- Consider hair type, thickness, curl pattern, and prior treatments
- Note any adjustments made to protect hair health
Tip: Documenting your decision-making demonstrates professional judgment and problem-solving skills.
4. Challenges & Troubleshooting
Reflect on any issues and how you resolved them:
- Resistant or coarse hairs
- Uneven growth or patchiness
- Redness or sensitivity
Include:
- What you observed
- Steps you took to correct the problem
- Any adjustments to timings, techniques, or products
Tip: Demonstrating a methodical approach shows your ability to troubleshoot and maintain client satisfaction.
5. Hygiene & Setup
Take a photo showing your clean, prepared treatment area, including tools neatly laid out. This highlights your commitment to safety, organisation, and professionalism.
6. Reflection (Optional)
Briefly note:
- What you learned during the session
- Adjustments you might make in future treatments
- Insights into managing different hair types or client expectations

Your submissions will be assessed on:
